Will CC2652p have plan to support SPI interface?

Part Number: CC2652P

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

hi Sir,

I know current ZNP only support UART interface.

Will you have plan to support SPI interface as well?

Wenij

  • Hi,

    No, we currently don't have plans to support SPI interface.

    However, only the transport layer code would need to be implemented. This means implementing the SPI functionality for the functions in npi_tl.h. The current UART implementation (in npi_tl_uart.c and npi_tl_uart.h may be used as reference).

    Regards,
    Toby

  • hi Toby,

    I check and search the source/ti/zstack/npi/  in 4.20.00.35 SDK, I did find it have npi_tl_spi.c and npi_tl_spi.h,

    and in npi_tl.h , it see following code

    ==

    #if defined(NPI_USE_UART)
    #define transportInit NPITLUART_initializeTransport
    #define transportRead NPITLUART_readTransport
    #define transportWrite NPITLUART_writeTransport
    #define transportStopTransfer NPITLUART_stopTransfer
    #define transportMrdyEvent NPITLUART_handleMrdyEvent
    #elif defined(NPI_USE_SPI)
    #define transportInit NPITLSPI_initializeTransport
    #define transportRead NPITLSPI_readTransport
    #define transportWrite NPITLSPI_writeTransport
    #define transportStopTransfer NPITLSPI_stopTransfer
    #define transportMrdyEvent NPITLSPI_handleMrdyEvent
    #endif

    Does it means TI already have SPI support for ZNP? (Just need to define the NPI_USE_SPI in somewhere)

  • No, it won’t work by just define NPI_USE_SPI.

  • We can likely apply the same reasoning as mentioned in this post: https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/zigbee-and-thread/f/158/t/730301

    The files npi_tl_spi.c and npi_tl_spi.h may be used as a reference for using ZNP with SPI.
    There will be more work to get it working with SPI (for example, adding another SPI interface in the .syscfg file).
