CC2530: Downloaded HEX file....is that it?

Part Number: CC2530
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: FLASH-PROGRAMMER, UNIFLASH, , CC-DEBUGGER

in a repair attempt of a commercial LED driver that zapped the C2530 chip, I have found another and been able to download a .HEX file from it. i plan on replacing the C2530 chip and uploading this .HEX info to it, is that all I should need To do? Im not changing the programming or anything, just need to replace this 1 blown IC.

  • Hi Chris,

Yes, you can use UNIFLASH, FLASH-PROGRAMMER, or the IAR EW8051 IDE software along with a CC-DEBUGGER to program your CC2530 device with the hex output image.

  • Ryan,

Thanks for the reply. I pulled the HEX from the unit with the CC-Debugger & Flash Programmer. I guess since there were no Errors that's good.  The chip controls PWM output to 2 x LED channels & also uses PUSH to DIM for dimming.  If all that programming is included in the HEX file, it looks like i'll be able to get these units back up and running.  Picture of the board attached in case anyone is curious, this board attaches to the driver.
