Title: Rapid prototyping of cloud-connected applications using open source modular hardware

Date: Thursday, May 7

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

Attending ESC Boston in May? Make sure you are there bright and early on Thursday morning to learn how to build a complete end-to-end Internet of Things system using open source hardware and software tools for rapid prototyping with Adrian Fernandez. By the end of the session, you will have created a multi-node sensor network that aggregates data to the cloud using MQTT. Each node features a sub-GHz radio that sends sensor data to a Wi-Fi-enabled gateway that aggregates data from each node and publishes them to the cloud. Using cloud-side rapid prototyping tools, you will learn how to trigger customized events in the cloud, such as trigger text messages when your plant needs watering, send tweets when motion is detected and datalog temperature readings into cloud databases.
