options for tone controls

Hello,

For tone controls using opamps, are the circuits based on bandaxall tone control, the best way to go like given in below link:

Or are there any other better circuit options for tone controls?
Searching in internet mostly only getting Bandaxall tone controls either passive or active (opamp based).

    Quad used a system which was lift and tilt it gave a different characteristic, you can also use parametric equalisation. There is a website called hifi engine, its free to register and you can get the circuit diagrams for loads of old HiFi. I think you should find plenty of useful circuits there. Personally I like the parametric or the standard bandaxall.
