LM4930 Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM4930, TPA2029D1

Hi sir:

If LM4930 use external class D amplier,how to connect?Can I connet LM4930's pin(E2) LS- and pin(F2) LS+ to external PA‘s input pin?

thanks!

  • Hi,

    Welcome to e2e!
You could connect speaker output into an external amplifier stage, but you must note that speaker output is BTL. What is the input of the external amplifier? Differential mono?

  • Hello sir:

You mean i can connect the external amplier with LM4930? Then, which pins of LM4930? Are these LS+/LS- pin?

I use CP2217 as the external amplier. I draw a picture for you referenc. Would you please check whether it is right or not?
    thanks!

  • Hi,

    Yes, that connection seems right.
You will have to evaluate this specific application as the speaker driver is designed to drive relatively low impedance loads, and the input impedance of the class-D amplifier is not a low impedance.
You can take a look at TPA2029D1 in case you need a TI replacement for the class-D amplifier.
