We evaluate thermal specificaiont of the TAS6424 for my customer.

Is suffix No. of following picture latest version?

And is this version appropriate of thermal evaluation?

Thank you for your support.

This sample shuts down by DC ERROR when outputting 15W*4 on 2ohm load.
Is this correct working?
If it is, the TAS6424 is not matching for my customer requiring....

This is not how the device is supposed to work. Please provide more information on this fault.
1. Does the fault occur on all channels?
2. What type of signal is the customer using? Sine, Square, ??
3. What is the power supply voltage on PVDD when this occurs?

Any other comments on the test can be helpful.

We have duplicated the false DC Detect and are writing an Erratum on this issue. The basic work around is to ignore the DC detect faults when there is a OTSD event, for both the channel OTSD and the Global OTSD.

Greg-san,

I understood the false DC detect .

However I think that working OTSD is unusual when when outputting 15W*4 on 2ohm load.
Is this correct?
Is there any why the device shuts down?

Kuramochi-san,

The OTSD will shut the device down when it is too hot. Please check the heatsink interface to the device. We have found that some of the heatsinks do not have the proper amount of heatsink compound. Please check and made sure there is a very thin and evenly spread layer of white heatsink compound.

Do you have actual thermal measurement data on the same or similar condition(15W*4ch on 2ohm load)?
We would like to refer it.

Hi Gregg-san,

Could you let me know the enviroment measured characterization at 2ohm loat condition on the datasheet?
And is there any necessary resistor setting on the evaluation at 2ohm load ?

Kuramochi-san,
For datasheet measurements we force the environment to 25C per the datasheet spec.
There is no special setting on the EVM for 2 ohms measurements

I'm recognizing that the datasheet characterizations were measured on the same condition with EVM(i.e. heatsink).
Is it correct?
