Hello Support,

Referring the TAS5825, can it start up, stop and operate (playing audio) without the need of an I2C coupled host MCU and solely function from a eeprom?
My application doesnot require any user interaction, just play audio.
If not, do you have an application note or preferred MCU to overcome that or has TI a simular functional class D amp that does such a job?

The TAS5825 documentation refers on page 16 to Application note: Program TAS5825M DSP memory from external EEPROM.
I could not find this application note so can you tell how to obtain that one?

And what is the expected delivery date of the TAS5825EVM evaluation board, since it is out fo stock?

Hi Leen,

looks like the chip is in "deep sleep" mode after a reset. See figure 16 of datasheet.

Hi Kai,

So far I have no TAS5825 based circuit nor evaluation kit to perform tests with.
The questions are to indentfy whether or not a possible solution with TAS5825 is feasible.

Hi Lean,

I would suggest you take a look at TAS5760M based on your requirements.

When TAS5760M works in the hardware mode, no I2C host or even eeprom required.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for the suggesting to use TAS5760M, but the TAS5825 has the advantage of a complete DSP with limiter, equalizer and is therefor preferable.

So the questions remain:

- possible operation with EEProm only?

- how to become the application note?

- delivery time of TAS5825 EVM kit?

Andy: No. The I2C communications are still necessary even if an eeprom is connected to TAS5825M.

- how to become the application note?
Andy: What do you mean?

- delivery time of TAS5825 EVM kit?
Andy: We are now building more TAS5825MEVM for customer requests before TAS5825M is officially released. I would suggest you talk to a TI Sales or FAE and ask them to place an order for you.
