TAS5717: Question of the TAS5717 A_SEL's Internal Pulldown Resistance

Hi Sirs,

According to TAS5717 datasheet, there is an internal 15kR pulldown to GND with the A_SEL pin. Does the internal pull down resistor take effect with headphone driver enabled? If we don't use headphones driver (0x05 = 0x00) and we want to pull up the A_SEL to high or low to select I2C address to 0x56 or 0x54. What is our recommended external pull up or pull resistance?

Hi Wayne,
15kohm pull-down resistor is the hardware configuration on the board for headphone channel enabled application. Please find more info in the SCH in the EVM user's guide: www.ti.com/.../slou303.pdf
There shouldn't be any difference in the A-SEL between TAS5717 and the other open-loop AMP if headphone channel is not enabled.

Can I say that the 15kR internal pull down resistor can take effect with headphones driver enabled (0x05 = 0x13)? Otherwise, we need to give an external pull up or pull down resistors to define I2C address? What is your recommended pull up or down resistor? I saw a 15kR pull down on TAS5717 EVM.

Hi Wayne,
I think the 15kohm resistor mentioned in the datasheet is the external resistor on the board.
