I have a question of the ultrasonic sensor for PGA450-Q1.

We can use the frequency range 40kHz to 70kHz for Digital path.

So, usually, the frequency of the ultrasonic sensor should be 40kHz to 70kHz.

Is it correnct?

And I wolud like to confirm how much can PGA450-Q1 drive the frequency of the ultrasonic sensor

even if PGA450-Q1 can not receive the signal.

Atsushi,

You are correct that the ultrasonic transducer is usually 40kHz to 70kHz; however the PGA450 can drive the transducer at higher frequencies (but not receive at higher frequencies). What frequency do you want to drive the transducer at?

The customer wants to drive about 500kHz. Can PGA450-Q1 drive this frequency?

Atushi,

My apologies for the delay in this response. I tried driving a 500kHz signal in the lab and was successful. The granularity of the frequencies you can select from is lower in this range. For instance, you can set the frequency to: 471kHz, 500kHz, 533kHz, etc.

The mode you described is the typical application, where one transducer both transmits and recieves at its resonant frquency (such as 58kHz). If you have a question, please start a new thread with it.

The PGA450EVM user's guide explains how to use the GUI. You can find it at the PGA450 product page on www.ti.com :

hi Clancy,

could you please explain me the role of the transformer , can I directly drive the sensor.
I am asking because i have seen some other solutions too they don't even use transformer in the design. how do they manage tuning ?
