Output transition waveform of TPS7B4250-Q1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TPS7B4250-Q1

Dear, All

A customer has commissioned to simulate transition waveform movement under their condition.
TPS7B4250-Q1 has the PSpice model, but there are no models for TINA-TI.
I get a model for TINA-TI, is the fact possible?
Or when showing the condition of the customer, are you able to simulate transition waveform movement?

Thanks, Masami M.

  • The supporting Application Engineers are currently unavailable due to China's National Holiday, but will respond upon their return. Thank you for your patience.

  • Hi Michino-san,

There is only PSpice model of TPS7B4250-Q1 currently, does customer need the TINA model?
If yes, we need to submit the request to build the model, usually three or more months are needed.

Our designer could help run simulation for customer, could you please get the required test conditions?

    Best regards,
    Jason Liu
  • Hi, Jason Liu-san

Thank you very much for your answer.
I was understood that there are no models for TINA-TI.
The condition of the customer is as follows.
    a. Vin=6V
    b. ADJ=5V
    c. Output Capacitor=10uF ---> Murata GCM31CR71C106KA49L.
    d. OUTPUT Current ----- 22mA -> 40mA -> 22mA Transition time =2uS.
The customer would like to know the case when the output waveform of TPS7B4250-Q1 is worst(Voltage).

    Thanks, Masami M.

  • Hi Michino-san,

    1. TINA-TI model
Does customer need the TINA-TI model? If yes, we need to submit the request to build the model, usually three or more months are needed.

    2. Output transition waveform
I have already answered this problem to Ikeda-san through emails.
The load transient performance is related with the load switching slew rate and the output capacitor (capacitance and ESR value).
In the datasheet, load is switched with the electric load, the slew rate is slower, not so fast as customer's case (2us).
And choosing the output capacitors with large capacitance and low ESR within the stable region (datasheet page 8 figure 12) could be effective in helping improve the load transient performance.
In customer's case, we cannot control the load switching slew rate, but we can choosing the output capacitor with larger capacitance and lower ESR.

In customer's case, worst case exist in high temperature, simulation result shows nearly 46 mV under 150C temperature.

    Best regards,
    Jason Liu
  • Hi, Jason Liu-san

Thank you very much for your answer.
If it takes more than 1 month for making, a model for TINA-TI doesn't need.
It was understood about the worst output waveform.
    I answer to the customer.

    Thanks, Masami M.
