TPA3110D2-Q1; the way to calculate the efficiency by TINA-TI

Dear all,

I would like to know whether my thinking is correct at TINA-TI.

I calculated the efficiency of TPA3110D2-Q1 by TINA-TI in order to know specified efficiency.

However, the conclusion was too low efficiency.

Please check attachment file and judge whether my approach is correct.

If my approach to calculate efficiency is wrong, please teach me  the correct way.

    I apologize for the delay. I started looking at this last week, but did not finish my response.

    What is the efficiency calculated from this simulation? What is the audio input signal? What are you trying to match the results to, bench data or the efficiency plots in the datasheet?

    Did you mean to remove the capacitor to ground after the ferrite bead on the outputs?

    - This IC's efficiency.

    - sine wave, amplitude = 525 mV, frequency = 1kHz

    -I am trying to almost match to data sheet Figure 22.

    -At Figure 22, the efficiency=73% at 3.9W/Ch. However, I calculated 52% by TINA-TI...

    No, I don't think to remove it. I am just confused of the difference between TINA-TI and data sheet.

    I've been working with the TINA model myself and I do not believe that it models the input current correctly, meaning that measuring the efficiency will not work correctly. 

    Were you able to get a normal input current reading?  How did you do your measurement?

    To measure the efficiency, you should test it on the EVM.  I can walk you through how to do that if you haven't done it before.  The thing to be careful about with class-D amplifiers is that wires will dissipate some of the power, so make sure to measure the input voltage directly at the EVM and make sure that the load is connected well (with short wires capable of the power rating without much loss).
