TPS65381-Q1 Maximum current of VDD6 internal FET body diode

Hello,

Please answer following question from customer.

Please let me known the maximum DC and pulse current of VDD6 internal FET body diode.

When VBATP voltage suddenly down to 0V while short duration reverse current will flow from VDD6 output capacitor to VBATP through body diode. So, customer request me above information.

Hi Ushikubo-san, sorry for the delay, it seems the question was assigned properly.

I assume you mean the body diode on SDN6, the switching node for VDD6 regulator. We do not specify this parameter in the datasheet, I will have to check with design what information we can provide.

VBATP (and VBAT_SAFING) should be reverse battery blocked so no current should be possible to flow back into VBAT itself. However the energy in VDD6 may cause current to flow and charge the input capacitance.

Hi Ushikubo-san,

I have received feedback from our design team that for the VDD6 SDN6 FET, the body diode current capability is higher than that of the FET itself but we do not specify it in the datasheet. This is sufficient for the use case when current flows through the body diode from the charge on the output capacitor for VDD6 and the energy in the inductor.
