AFE4400SPO2EVM on battery

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4400SPO2EVM, BQ24032A

Hi,

I was looking at the schematics of the AFE4400SPO2EVM and we found that you have also provided a battery and power management circuit to the schematics however the IC are missing from the board.

I want to provide power to the EVM externally. Can this be implemented by soldering the missing components?

I want to use the USB provided in the PCB for charging purpose only, communication has been handled by other means.

Plz provide me if these things are possible, as I want to make it a stand alone data logging device.

Also provide me with any changes that i need to make in the schematics to make it possible.

  • Hello Atul,

Yes the EVM can be powered externally.

The EVM has been tested using an external power source but not validated with a battery.

Connect the battery to J5 (+ terminal to pin#1 and - terminal to pin#2) and install R114.

    Regards

    Praveen.
