Hi Everyone ,

I'm using an ADS5295 and I need to sample a 60Hz sine wave from a signal generator , the thing is I'm getting this :

I keep increasing the frequency and the results get better (as shown in the figure below)

(I'm not using any kind of filter)

What do you think it's going on ? , Do you think i should use a low pass filter ?

I would appreciate any suggestions or comments, Thanks .

Hi,

Since you show plots from HSDCpro, I am assuming you are testing the ADS5295 on our EVM. If so, analog inputs are band-limited by the min-circuits transformers which have a 3-dB cutoff of 2 MHz on the low side. This explains why you see improvement with increasing frequency.

In short, what I need to do is to capture a 60 Hz sine wave and another high frequency signal (partial discharge (>20MhZ)) simultaneously.

What kind of filters do you recommend me to use for each signal ?
