AFE4403-HREVM schematics related

Hello Arnab,

1. DVCC_JTAG is the voltage output from the JTAG debugger tool sourced through J1 jtag connector.

2. BQ27425 has an internal 2.5V LDO. VCC is the output of the internal LDO connected to LDO_OUT_FG/BAT_DET which is monitored on the GPIO of the MSP430 microcontroller.

3. As mentioned earlier, this voltage is generated by the 2.5V LDO of BQ27425.

4. TPS2115ADRB is the power multiplexer to enable transition between two power supplies: Battery or DVCC_JTAG (Jtag power).

5. There is no UC3833 in the AFE4403-HREVM schematics.

Thanks for the reply...But as you said UC3833 is not there in the schematics I would request you to have a look at schematic again as I am having the same on it....If you give your mail id I can forward the same to you...

Please clarify that is required in the circuit or not..It would be helpful...

These are not the schematics to the AFE4403 watch and in these schematics UC3833 is DNP.

To obtain the AFE4403 watch EVM schematics please contact SVTronics support.

Thanks for the information.I have contacted SVTronics for the schematics.But if these are not the watch EVM schematics then why this has been posted on website?

Also I wish to know about the developed algorithm in the watch. As I know it is not open source, can you please share some documents with me which will guide me in developing the algorithm? It would be of utmost help as we are looking at similar product.

The watch that was on the link you had was the first generation design and was not available for purchase. Since then SVTronics has made a watch available for purchase, but we left the first gen watch online along with the support files in case anyone would want them.

We will be posting our default watch firmware to our product folder soon. If you provide me with an email address I can provide it to you or I can provide the link for you when it is available online.

I contacted SVtronics but still didn't get the updated schematics.Please try to provide the updated schematics otherwise I would go ahead with the old schematics itself. That schematics is also working design right? Or  you can tell me the changes made in the updated one.

I have one more query regarding the VCM_shield that is used to provide the common mode voltage to AFE4403 INN and INP inputs. It seems it is going through the transformer but the transformer and VCM_shield doesn't seem connected. Can you please explain how you are giving common mode voltage to the inputs?

Hello Arnab,

VCM is a reference voltage that is internally generated and it is used to bias the input common mode of the TIA internal to the device.

The VCM signal is routed externally to shield the INP and INN traces from common mode noise.

Can you please tell me how did you test the watch board? I mean did you use a simulator to use the same? If yes, I need the device name and part number of simulator which would generate similar sort of signal coming out of wrist?

Arnab,

Most of the testing for the watch came from testing on multiple subjects on the wrist. We are not aware of any simulator that can do reflective measurements.

If you didn't use any simulator can you please tell me why there are two connectors with same pin-outs in the schematics in the AFE4400 page..Connectors J2 and J6 in the schematics link

Arnab,

These schematics don't look like the SVTronics watch, which is the latest version. In the new schematics that SVTronics support sent to you by email there are not 2 connectors.
