Hello,

I modified the source code [AFE4490EVMFWSRC-v1.3] for AFE4490SPO2EVM and upgraded the firmware over USB using the PC application.

I have made changes in ST_ENUM_ACTIVE case. Now the PC application shows error message

Can a buggy firmware corrupt the PC application to EVM communication and prevent further firmware upgrades?

If yes, how can I go back to the original firmware and get the board working again?

You can get the original firmware from our product folder again, under tools and software.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.
In fact, I had modified this firmware (www.ti.com/.../slac679) and flashed it using the GUI application; using File->Firmware Upgrade option.
Now when I select this firmware upgrade option, I'm seeing the error.
I had modified code in AFE44x0_main.c
Looks like changes I made in "if (bCDCDataReceived_event){" has corrupted the EVM Message Communication Protocol.

Is it still possible to change to the original firmware using the GUI application?

If you are having a USB issue, you won't be able to upgrade the firmware with the GUI. Have you tried upgrading without the GUI? Section 6 of the User's Guide.

Hi Amy,

I could not find non-GUI upgrade in Section 6 "USB-Based Firmware Upgrade".

Could you please confirm the User Guide you're referring to?

Is it http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slau480 ?

This is for the AFE4403EVM, but Section 7 describes what you need. Sorry for the typo
