TLK2711-SP: TLK2711-SP IBIS Model Questions

My customer is seeing Vout levels above the levels that are listed in the data sheet when using the TLK2711-SP model. He is using pre-emphasis at 20%, but the simulation seems to be showing differential voltage levels of nearly 3V pp using the fast/strong model. It is even showing differential voltages of 2Vpp in the slow/weak mode. Can you verify if there is an issue with the model?

I have attached a picture of what the customer is using in the simulation.

Can you verify if this is an issue or not?

I have simulated this and have been able to duplicate results.
I do see one error in their schematic. The pullup is set to 1.55V, and this should be 2.5V for setting the receive common mode. This does not significantly alter the results of the VOD.

Couple comments.
1) IBIS models are not sign-off models, and are intended for signal integrity purposes. These results have higher VOD than I would expect. I will see if there is anything that can be done to improve this. However, considering the age of device and design database/tools it is likely that it is not feasible to recreate a new model from simulation.
2) The model/schematic does not include transmission line and parasitic capacitance. This will soften the overshoot.
3) The production tested VOD values are based on static loaded conditions, and do not include the overshoot.
4) We do have hspice models for this device that can be provided. They should be more accurate. Please let me know if you would like the models and testbenches.
