Hi,

I am using Eagle to create a design with the DRV8850. I haven't managed to find any Eagle library for the DRV8850, is there such a library freely available? If not, I will make this component in Eagle but I havent been able to find the size of the thermal pad. The closest I get is a drawing of the 24VQFN package

but it says that the size and shape of the thermal pad is given in a separate sheet, which I have not been able to find. Anyone know where to find it?

We provide generic CAD bxl files that can be imported into most tools. See the CAD/CAE Symbols section of the page below.

You should be able to find information in the datasheet concerning the Thermal Pad dimensions (page 22).

Hi Nick,
The bxl files are new to me, so it may be a simple fix...
When I tried generate the symbol for Eagle using Ultralibrarian with the bxl file, the results appear incomplete -- the package and symbol are created, but the device is not. Any additional suggestions?

Hi Andrew,

What do you mean the device is not created?

Once converted, there should be a pcb footprint, a schematic symbol, and a log.txt file describing how to import the file into Eagle.

If there is still a problem, can you provide either a screen capture or a zip file with the suspect files and a description? I can contact the group that generates the .bxl files.
