DRV10983-75 application does not start

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10983EVM

Hi,

I purchased the DRV10983EVM. I installed the software as required. However, when I start the DRV10983-75 application on my computer the following error message pops up:

Translation: DRV10983-75 requires a Version 2010 (or a compatible one) LabView Runtime-Engine. Please contact the sails office to solve the problem.

As above mentioned I did install the runtime engine from NI (LVRTE2010sp1std64.exe).

I have windows 7 as an operating system.

What is going wrong?

  • Hi Marc,

Have you installed the Runtime according to the User Guide Page 26. www.ti.com/.../slou393c.pdf

32bit Runtime version needed for the GUI.

    www.ni.com/.../en

Could you try this installation again?

    Best regards,
  • Hi Wilson,

I got the 64 bit version on accident because there is no download button for the 32-bit version on the webpage www.ni.com/.../en. At least I can't find it on that page. Can you tell me how to download it?

    Best regards,

    Marc

  • Hi Wilson,

I go the 64-bit version on accident. However, I am not able to download the 32-bit version from the NI page you posted because there is no download button for 32-bit version available on that page. How did you get the 32-bit version or where do I get the 32-bit version?

    Best Regards,
    Marc
  • I'm having the same issue. I really think TI needs to provide a working web link to the proper 32 bit version of the NI runtime engine. I removed all of the NI software from my Windows 7 computer, then downloaded the 2010 32 bit runtime engine and still have the same issue.

What TI is doing is being a bit skimpy on the support here, I think. We (newbies with this device) don't want to go through all this hassle only to have things not work! We look like dummies to our bosses, and it gives TI a black eye, in my opinion.

Please give us a functional disk/software with the product, and don't make us go through all these non-functional steps.

Really bad experience for me. I could scream.

  • Hi David,

I haven't gotten an answer or solution from TI yet. However, to solve the prolem I searched the web for the 32 bit LabView run time engine and I found an executable file for download on a web page that belongs to CERN. Here is the link:

    https://indico.cern.ch/event/283113/session/2/contribution/25

    The file name is "LVRTE2010_SP1f5std.exe"

I hope you have success, it worked for me.

    Cheers

    Marc
