DRV8842: DRV8842 not giving sufficient output voltage while testing

I am using DRV8842 for driving linear actuator motor. And for the testing purpose i setup the circuit (without motor as load). VM=12V (form laboratory supply), driving motor inputs with 5V supply, VREF shorted to V3P3OUT, ISEN to ground, I0-I4 to VREF (make it high). I thought of getting 12V between OUT1 and OUT2. But I am getting only 3.6V. Can anyone help me with an answer, how to get a 12V drive in output. I am using 9V-12V linear actuator used in car locks.

Hi Akhil,

If you set the inputs to static values other than 0/0, one or both of the outputs should be 12V.

What is the state of nSLEEP and nRESET?

What is the VCP voltage?

Are the inputs being PWM'ed?

Hi Rick

The issue was with thermal pad connection. The connection to PPAD (thermal pad) was not proper. That is why it gave lower output voltage. I did connection properly and now I am getting 12V output between OUT1 and OUT2.
