Hello,

I would like to know, what is the difference between the short frame and long frame format of PCM4204, as both look same as per datasheet figure 4.

Also, in short frame, what is the bit format supported and how long is each slot?? Each frame is indicated as 128BCK long and there are 8 slots.

Please help to clear this confusion.

Hello Don,

I want to know, number of bits in each slot. I could not find explanation for the same.

Also, in case if only 4 channels are used, will there be 8 slots(each channel will have two slots) or only 4 slots??

Please help to clarify.

Mahendra,

In short-frame, there should be 2 sub frames with 2 slots per sub frame, for a total of 4 slots (assuming 32 bits).

Hello Mahendra,
I have the same questions with you. The data sheet says that the short frame mode "support 4 Channels, or two PCM4204 devices." . If there is only 1 chip(4 chs) with 128fs frame length (4 slots per frame）, it does make sense. But two PCM4204 are 8 channels, with 128fs frame length（4 slots per frame）. I just cannot figure out how is the data arranged in these slots.
