TLV320AIC3254 internal LDO or external supplies

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3254

Hi,

I am designing a system using the TLV320AIC3254.  I plan to supply the part with just 3.3V for the I/O and use the internal LDO(s) for AVDD and DVDD.  What, if any, are the disadvantages of using the internal regulators.  On the sample board we have the AVDD and the DVDD lines measure 1.7V which is in spec but very low for a 1.8V rail.

Design currently looks much that pictured in "Figure 1-2. Typical Circuit Configuration" of the reference guide, for the power connections to the 3254.

We would like to achieve the maximum performance of the device in our application, not necessary the lowest cost implementation.

Thanks
