PCM1795 internal sampling frequency

Hi, the PCM 1795 documentation says it supports up to 192KHz input and 8x Supersampling. Does that mean the internal sampling rate of the filter can perform at 1536KHz? Perhaps there is a lower ceiling such as 384KHz, and the level of supersampling will self adjust when this maximum is hit?

  • Hi Bill,

I believe that the internal limit is 1.536 MHz as the data sheet states that when going over 100 kHz sampling rate in external filter mode, the OS is limited to 8x, which at 192 kHz is 1.536 MHz. Looking at the timing diagram for the external filter it shows that the bit lcock can support 32 bit words at a sampling rate of 1.536 MHz.
