SRC4190: Can We Use 12.288MHz Oscillator as MCLK Source for SRC4190

Part Number: SRC4190

Ho Sirs,

For those BT system with no MCLK, can we use a discrete oscillator as SRC4190's MCLK source as the block below?

Thank you and Best regards,

  • Hi Wayne,

As far as the SRC4190 goes, the Audio input port is a 3-wire synchronous serial interface (LRCK, BCK & SDIN) that may operate in either SLAVE or MASTER mode. Based on the block diagram/device configuration outlined in your post, the input port is configured as SLAVE w BCKI (64*fs) and LRCKI as inputs.

Since it's 3-wire interface, we do NOT need MCLK. Are you referring to REFERENCE CLOCK (RCKI) when you say MCLK? If so, your block diagram outlines an input of 12.288MHz which should work just fine for this application.

Please let me know if this answers your question. Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Ravi

  • Hello Ravi, Thanks for your concern. Yes, I referred RCKI as MCLK. Customer would use a 12.288MHz as RCKI clock source in this case. I am sending customer's schematic with password to your mail address...Wayne Chen
