DAC37J84EVM: When changed the K parameter, Multiframe Alignment error and Frame Alignment Error occurred.

Part Number: DAC37J84EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04828

Hi all,

My customer did the DA37J84EVM in the setup procedure of the user's guide.

After confirming that the EVM operates normally, change the value of K from the initial value of 10 to 22 in the JESD BLOCK Tab.
And they clicked the 2. Reset DAC JESD Core button and clicked the 3. Trigger LMK04828 SYSREF button.

But the EVM reported Multiframe Alignment error and Frame Alignment Error.

What is the setting procedure for changing the value of K?

Regards,
Toshi

  • Hi Toshi,

The K value in DAC has to match the K value in FPGA. K value in FPGA can be changed from Instrument Optons--> Dynamic configuration or from the ini file for the device.
K is also related to the SYSREF frequency and this has to change as well. What is the reason for changing K from the default?

    Thanks,
    Eben.
  • Eben-san,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I misunderstood that the contents of JESD set by GUI of DAC will be reflected also in JESD of FPGA of TSW14J54EVM.
The reason the customer changed the value of K is to try out the value of K which they try to set in their application.

    Best regards,
    Toshi
