DAC38J84EVM: DAC to Xilinx KCU105 using JESD204B via FMC

Part Number: DAC38J84EVM

Hi,

I am trying to run the HSDC Pro With Xilinx  KCU105 (SLAU711 march2017).

In page 7, you indicate a path for the KCU105_TI_DHCP.bit but this streamfile is too old and  not compatible with Vivado 2017.4. There is an issue with MIG_1 which is not supported.

In page 8, the adjusting FPGA FMC settings (section 6.3) worked fine but for the IP Address and connecting to HSDC pro (section 6.4) i only get a black window when i was connected with tera term vt to USB to serial bridge. There is no data as seen in figure 4.  I have installed the silicon labs dual cp2105 usb to uart bridge.

any idea please?

Regards

  • F Brest,

Unfortunately, you will need to install version 2016.3 of Vivado to run this firmware. The newer versions will not work. For your other issue, since you did not program the FPGA yet, I think this info will be available. Do you have the Ethernet cable connected to the board?

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Hi,

Why you do not update the stream file so we can use the current vivado version availble to be downloaded from Xilinx (2017.4 to upwards)?

    Regards

  • F Brest,

Xilinx created this firmware for us and had plans to update this with the a newer version of Vivado but the task has slipped in their schedule. Right now not sure if they still have plans to do this or not.

    Regards,

    Jim
