Hello,

I'm currently evaluating the LDC1000EVM.

Target is the sphere with which only the surface was metal plated ware. (3mm in diameter)

I'm looking for a way to increase the sensitivity.

Do you have any good suggestions?

Could you tell me what is the type of the metal plating, and how thick the plating is?

The following information that I have.

Plating thickness 　　：　1 to 5μm

Plating materials　　：　Electroless nickel plating

Float ball diameter 　：　5/32"(3.97mm)

Tapered tube 　　　　： PYREX,66mm(H),φ9.5mm

Hi,

The Eddy current requires at least 30um of metal. Since the plating is much thinner than 30um, the sensitivity will be very poor.

To increate the sensitivity, you may try a wire-wound coil circulating the tube. This can improve sensitivity significantly.
