Can the ADS8528 and/or the ADS8558 be used with 5V single supply?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8558, ADS8528

Hallo,

Can the ADS8528 (or ADS8558) be used with 5V single supply?
Can I connect HVSS to AGND and use the ADS8528 in 0V to 5V input range (Vref=2.5V)?
I would like to use the ADS8528 with HVDD=AVDD=DVDD=5V and HVSS=GND.
Is there any problem? Would you please let me know?

Best Regards,
Kazu Ogawa

  • Hi Kazu,

The minimum specified input voltage for HVSS is -5V for the ADS8528.  You will see some clipping and performance degradation by taking HVSS to GND.  The same is true with the ADS8558.  What are the features you are looking for speed wise?  Do you need 8 channels of simultaneous sampled inputs?  We may have some other device that can be used from a single supply depending on your end application needs.

  • Tom-san,

Thank you very much for your prompt answer.
We are looking for 8 channels simultaneous sampled inputs (alternative 6 or 4 channels).
And also, requires single supply, serial I/F (Daisy chain feature is better).
    Is there any converter?
