Hi, i have the DAC161S997EVM and want to install the DAC161S997GUI from here http://www.ti.com/tool/DAC161S997EVM (red Download button).

Installation of the Programm and the USB-Driver of the FTDI-Chip works under my Win7-Pro. When i connect the board to the PC i can see the new COM-Port in the Devicemanager. But when i start the DAC161S997GUI, i get the following error:

Error -1073807202 occourred at VISA

Can somebody tell me which driver i need for this? I red that VISA has something to do with LabView but i dont use it.

Hi,

This usually means that the NI VISA driver needs to be installed on your system. You can download the latest version from the ni.com web site.

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

I installed NI VISA with the NIVISA541full.exe and did all updates. After that the GUI register the com-port of the board, but on connect I get the error:

Error 1073807339 occoured at VISA ....

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout

Is there a program for Linux i can try?

Sorry there is not a Linux version of the software.

Now that the VISA driver is installed, try uninstalling the DAC161s997 GUI software and then reinstalling.
