ADS1282: Expected life time?

Part Number: ADS1282

The ADS1282 was introduced in 2007, according to the datasheet.

The specs on resolution, linearity and noise are still some of the best on the market today.

For how long should one expect that it stays active in production, i.e. doesn't become obsolete?

    If I had to guess I would say this device will be available for a few more decades...

    I would expect this part to be active for a long time since there aren't many alternatives and this is a popular device. Also, the types of systems that the ADS1282 goes into tend to have long life spans as well.

    In general, TI does not obsolete products out of convenience. If a product is not recommended for new designs, there will usually be a recommended alternative. Also, we will notify customers in advance of any product changes.
