ADS7924: Problem reading in ads7924

Part Number: ADS7924

Hello friends

I have used ads7924 before with my tm4c129dncpdt and their I was using Manual scan mode. Now I am using EFM32LG controller for this IC. This are the step which I am following

Well I have seen one error and shorted DVDD with AVDD but now I have connected it but still the issue is same so I removed r70 and c64 as per the suggestion from the previous post but still the issue remains the same. I have tried reading in manual single scan mode only that channel but still the issue.

1) Sending Awake mode command

2) Disabling the alarm (default values)

3) Configuring Intrconfig as busy

4) And acqusition time as default (6 micro sec).

5) Sending Manual scan mode command 0xC8.

and in a cyclic loop of 2 sec interval I am reading the four channel values and at the end once again sending the manual scan mode command.

I am measuring the voltage near chnl1 the volatage is steady and not varying but the values which I am reading is varying 0.7 volts randomly. This is with respective to all the channels.

If I am missing something suggest me.

Regards

Harish

  • Hi Harish

Can you please confirm below points

    1. Were you getting similar error with TM4C controller.
    2. When you say you removed R70 and C64, did you short MUXOUT and ADCIN
    3. When you scan channel in manual mode, can you monitor voltage at CH0, MUXOUT and ADCIN for following conditions
    a)R70 and C64 populated
    b) MUXOUT-ADCIN shorted (R70- 0 Ohm, C64- open)

Ideally you should see same voltage as CH0 at MUXOUT and ADCIN when you select CH0. If that is not the case then there may be issue with how the channels have been switched/configured

    Thanks & Regards

  • Hi Abhijeet thanks for the reply

I was not getting error with tm4c

And I have removed r70's 1K ohms and placed it with 0 ohms, muxout and adcin are shorted.
