CCSv5.1.0.08000 does not discover DSP/BIOS install

Guru 15580 points

Gents,

Congrats on the good progress on CCSv5.1!! Keep up the good work.

I have just installed v5.1.0.08000 (yes, I am a glutton for punishment...:). When attempting to build one of my DSP/BIOS projects I get a build error saying that the project was created with a version of DSP/BIOS tools that is not installed. I then installed DSP/BIOS v5_41_07_24 in the same directory as ccs (C:\ti\ccsv5 & C:\ti\bios_5_41_07_24). However, CCS does not auto-discover the DSP/BIOS install, and I cannot figure out how to manually install it. Can you give me some guidance?

Thx,

MikeH

  • Hi Mike,

Can you check the BIOS search paths (Windows->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products) and see if the root location you installed BIOS shows up and also check what shows up under the 'DSP/BIOS' listing for 'Discovered tools'?

    Thanks

  • Ki,

Not sure what you are looking for, but here is my preferences window:

  • Hi Mike,

You are correct. M8 does have issues with BIOS installs that it did not come with. We are looking into this. In the meantime, there is a workaround you can use. You can delete (or cut and paste somewhere else) the 'eclipse folder inside the BIOS install (.\bios_5_41_07_24). Then restart CCS and it should detect it.

    Thanks

Could you be a bit more specific where to find this folder?

    thx

  • It is in the root directory of the BIOS install.

    ex:

    <INSTALL DIR>\bios_5_41_07_24\eclipse

  • That worked! Thanks!
