CC3200 Energia Sketch Project Build Fail at CCS6.0?

Hi,

I have a Energia Sketch Project that was able to run at my CC3200 launchpad.

I imported this project at CCS and build failed. When importing Energia Sketch Project I notice there is no board option for CC3200 Launchpad.

Does this mean that there is no support yet at CCS, importing Energia Sketch Projects for CC3200 Launchpad and building the project at CCS will result to build failure?

I can see a couple of issues. First it doesn't seem to re-read the board description file. i.e. I actually copied the CC3200 info into the Tiva board file and it didn't show up there until I created a new workspace. The other problem is that the doesn't seem to read in the CC3200 file at all.

I will file defects for these issues. I haven't found a workaround yet.

Hi JohnS,

So, until this issue is fixed, it is not possible to import CC3200 Energia Sketch code to CCS or is there a workaround enabling us to import CC3200 Energia Sketch code to CCS.

I haven't found a workaround that actually works. I tried modifying some files so that CCS would think CC3200 was a TivaC but that ran into other issues. So unfortunately importing won't work until the bug is fixed (good chance the fix will make the upcoming 6.1.0 release).

If you just want to debug you could manually load the executable into CCS and it will let you debug the program. It will prompt you to location some source files.

I will just wait for the next CCS release and see if I am able to import CC3200 Energia Sketch Code to CCS.

I have done that several times at my CC3200 Launchpad. I think there are some tutorials how to do that at Energia website.

Hi Arun,

Maybe, Energia does not support loading of programs for CC3200 Module. Maybe some configuration is needed.

But, you need to consider that C3200 Module, is CC3200 MCU + some other components that you can see at the CC3200 Launchpad. They just make it to a all those components into one module. So, should function similar to CC3200 Launchpad.

Have you tried loading programs to CC3200 Module using Uniflash or have you tried to debug any example programs using CCS?

Thanks for the information. I have been using Energia to program the Launchpad. Can you please help me out in finding the Bin(Executable) file in Energia, so that i can use Uniflash to program the cc3200 module.

Hi Arun,

I have not used Energia to make .bin file, so I am not familiar. Checking at my Energia folders, there is no .bin file there.

But I saw some discussions in the internet regarding "Energia Build Process". So search elsewhere in the internet.

Hi Arun, what kind of JTAG are you using to program CC3200 module? You wrote own a 3200 LP, did you try'd use internal programmer? Remiving all jumpers you can simply attach module and try program from Energia.

Hi Arun,

Alternatively, post your problem at the forum for Simplelink CC31xx/CC32xx to get more expert advice.

From what I know there are no CC3200 Launchpad with a CC3200 Module on it. So, I guess you are using a custom PCB board to try out the CC3200 Module.
