TMS320LF2406 converting a .out file to .hex using Hex2000 from code composer 6?

I am trying to convert a .out file to a .hex file to program this device. Everything I've read so far points to aquiring Code Composer Studio 3.3 in order to use dsphex to convert the file. Does hex2000 have the ability to do this? I tried using it in Windows 7 and it appeared to work. It showed up as an Intel hex in our programming software, however after programming the device the board didn't work. Maybe I need to set the romwidth to 16? The only thing I have available to work with is the customer's .out file.

Sounds to me that you and I are having the same issue. I'm using a TMS320LF2406 myself having only the .out to work with. I had attempted to convert to a .hex some time ago. Recently I have been reading that a .out may be used to write to the DSP by use of a JTAG flash programmer. I'm not certain if it still requires to use of CCS 3.3 or not. If your board has a 14 pin header for JTAG that may be an option, however, I am uncertain of the details on that process.

You probably need to set some additional options like romwidth. Please check section 12 of the assembly language user's guide for full documentation on the hex utility:

Hi Matt - I think Spectrum Digital has a f24x flash programmer that can be used to program the out file via JTAG. But I also believe you need an installation of CCSv3.3
