TINA/Spice/OPA4171-Q1: Convert TINA-Spice Model to Orcad PSpice Model

Part Number: OPA4171-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Is their a way to convert and import a TINA-Spice model to the Orcad P-Spice.

When I attempt to create the .olb files with the model editor, I get the following error:

"Translator used for creaating Design Entry HDL parts not found!  Please cconfigure TransOLB path in the PSpice.ini file"  I don't have this issue when importing non-TINA based models.  Is their a way to get this model which isn't dependent upon HDL parts?  Or am just out of luck for this.

I don't have TINA-Spice as our company has very restrictive software policies.

  • Hi Peter,

I tried creating .olb files and it worked well for me. Please find message below:

It looks like there is some issue with Pspice.ini file. Please verify it once. Also please find my settings(by default) in "Pspice.ini" file for "Model Editior" if it helps.

Please let me know if you need further help.

Alternatively you can use TINA-TI which is a free spice simulator.

  • Hi Peter,

When Model Editor starts, it askes you to select a design entry tool. Did you select "Capture"?

    Thanks,
    JC
