Hi all,
I am searching an option for TINA-TI to save transient simulation results with fixed time step instead of the variable time step (default behavior of TINA-TI).
Thanks in advance,
Massimo

Massimo,
I do not believe that TINA-TI can be made to use a fixed time step for transient simulation. I believe that the original SPICE program in the early 70's used a fixed time step and it was very limited. The Trapazoidal and Gear methods used today are variable time step methods which have the controls of TR maximum time step (10G is the default in TINA meaning that TINA determines the correct value for you) and TR minimum time step (default is 1e-30). You can change these controls to help with convergence and speed of the simulation.
If you are trying to do a Fourier Transform, you will have to post process the transient results (which TINA-TI can do) by selecting the transient waveform in the waveform viewer and selecting the Process option. A dialog will pop up so you can set the number of samples and harmonics and the format. Click calculate and the Fourier coefficients will be displayed.

Hi Britt,
thanks for the answer but my question was not regarding the time step simulation but the time step of the results I am interested to save (export) the waveform with a fixed time step (to simplify subsequent signal elaboration with math programs) notwithstanding the variable time step simulation choosen by TINA-TI.
Massimo
Massimo,
I'll have to investigate some more to see if TINA-TI can export a waveform with a fixed (sampled) time step. I have exported the waveform as text and post processed after the export using a different tool, but I have not tried to do this using TINA-TI only.
Britt
Massimo,
I have gotten confirmation that there is no option in TINA-TI to export the waveforms with a fixed time step. You will have to import the text file from the waveform and post process it using a different tool.
Thanks for your interest in TINA and TI Products.
Britt
You can export it as a WAV file, which has a fixed time step. You create a speaker object as your voltmeter.
