TPS65261 / Vout(max)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65261, SWITCHERPRO
Hi Team,

I'd like to ask about TPS65261 webech simulation.
Our customer is going to use TPS65261 on the following condition.

◇Vin=10V-17V(4cell battery)
⇒Vout1=8V, Iout(max)=3A
⇒Vout2=1V, Iout(max)=2A
⇒Vout1=4.9V, Iout(max)=2A

However, It is not only can enter up to 5.5V in Webench.
Why can not I enter only up to 5.5V?
Could you tell me  value of maximum output voltage of  the TPS65261?

Best Regards,
Yusuke / Japan Disty

  • Yusuke,

    This is Jason and system engineer for TPS65261.

    TPS65261 can support VOUT 8V.

     Most of customer use TPS65261 for Vout <5.5V, so this "webench" support VOUT <=5.5V for simulation/estimation.

    Please send the schematic to me for reviewing.

  • Hi Jason,

    Thank you for your support.
    I reported that it is 8V to customers.
    Now, Our customer is considering the TPS65261.
    Our customer is going to use TPS65261 on the following condition.

    ◇Vin=10V-17V(4cell battery)
    ⇒Vout1=8V, Iout(max)=2.5A
    ⇒Vout2=1.1V, Iout(max)=1.5A
    ⇒Vout3=4.9V, Iout(max)=1.2A

    Can you simulate in this condition?
    Customer has to worry about package temperature and efficiency.
    If you can not answer on the E2E, I want to e-mail directly.
    And If you need more information or if  I should  clarify my comment.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Jason,

    Thank you for your support.
    Could you tell me the circuit diagram was used to simulate.
    Customer want to reference circuit.

    Best Regards,

  • Yusuke,
    Sorry, I have no idea about your request “circuit diagram”.
    Please down load P-SPICE from ti.com for simulation if customer wants.
    And I can check schematic after customer completes.

  • Hi Jason,

    Thank you for your support.
    Did the simulation in the attached file?
    Is the Vout of the circuit diagram results of simulation in the 8V?

    Customer has become unstable operation when operating in Vout=8V and Iout=3A.

    Best Regards,
    Yusuke / Japan Disty
  • Yusuke,
    Please send me customer’s schematic to find the cause why operation is unstable.

  • Dear Jason,

    I'd ask for your help about this condition?
    Vin= 12V AC/DC power supply
    Vout1=10V - 1A
    Vout2=5V - 0.5A
    Vout3=3.3V - 0.5A

    Can you tell me, will it work with TPS65261? Can TPS65261 support 10V output voltage?

    Thank you for your help,
    Best regards,
    Balazs
  • hi Kiss,

    yes, TPS65261 can support Vout 10V when Vin is 12V.

    Please share the schematic to me for check when completes.

  • Dear Jason,

    Thank you for your help. I'll send you the schematic, when it's completed.

    All the best,
