Webench filter design software won't allow me to choose a quad op-amp for a multiple stage filter (although it suggested a quad 6 months ago for the same filter),

Webench filter design software won't allow me to choose a quad op-amp for a multiple stage filter (although it suggested a quad 6 months ago for the same filter),

In fact, although I can't find it in "my designs", I do have a printout of the filter design in which it suggests the LMC6574, but now, even if I launch Webench Filter Designer from the LMC6574 page, it chooses a single op-amp instead, and tells me that the LMC6574 is not suitable for my design.  Although, when I built it 6 months ago, it works just fine.

It seems to me an artificial problem with the tool.  I will use a quad op-amp, since I have the layout already.

Why is Webench not allowing me to choose a quad op-amp?

  • Dave,

Thanks for returning to TI and their WEBENCH filter appllication. I understand your issue and have put in a request to the software team to fix it. You are claiming that this is an artifical problem with the tool, however I beleive is is a big issue as you have found when the Filter Designer user goes to PCB.

I have also recommended that the filter for this lanch panel is a 2nd order filter, with a Bessel default approximation type.

Hope this gets things straightened out. If you find any other issues, please do not hessitate to attach your issues to this E2E string.
