DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2: Removing the light engine from DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2

I would like to use a DLP device for experiments with digital holography (shaping a laser beam with the DMD, using the HDMI input connected to a computer video card). For this, I need to remove the light engine safely in order to access the DMD directly. I know that this is possible for the DLPLIGHTCRAFTER, there is even an instruction vide on this on Youtube. However, the DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 device offers more than twice as many pixels for just a bit higher price, so I would prefer that one. Therefore I would like to ask if DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 is suitable for my purpose. If not, could you please recommend some other DLP device that would be suitable and would have more pixels than the DLPLIGHTCRAFTER?

Thanks for your interest in our DLP products.

The DLP3010 chipset (which is featured in this EVM) is not designed for laser applications, unfortunately. It also does not provide light control capability (which it sounds like you are looking for in your application). As a result, you are probably limited to our ALC (light control) EVMs on offer.

Dear Philippe,

thank you very much for your answer. Based on it, I was trying to find the list of all ALC (light control) EVMs to choose the most appropriate one for my purpose, but it does not seem to be easy. Could you please tell me the list of these devices suitable for my purpose up to, say, 1500 US$? Many thanks.

In your case, The best fit for you may be the LightCrafter 4500 EVM, which features similar sensing capabilities as the LightCrafter 3000 EVM:

Please note that these two systems were not designed with laser applications in mind, so on-system support for this application is limited.
