DLP3010EVM-LC: The projector doesn't work and the splash image doesn't show.

Part Number: DLP3010EVM-LC

When I connected  the DLP3010EVM to the computer by the usb-cable,the projector did not work and the splash image did not show.I found that the D8,D9 and D11 leds blinked together four times.

Before the problem occurs, I was testing the  Light Control(Internal Patterns) . I clicked the Program and Load Pattern Data, then the progress bar was stuck. Wait about 1 minute, I cut off the power. When I power again, the projector didn't work.

  • Hi Ketal,

Please try updating firmware with the EVM powered off.

It's never a good idea to cut off power abruptly, it's possible some components might have been damaged.

  • Hello Azad,
The firmware that I used is the latest version.
The product was bought 2 weeks ago. If something wrong with the product , how should I do ?
    Thanks
    Ketal
  • Hi Ketal,

Can you try updating firmware with the projector turned off (i.e. power cable plugged in but SW1 set to off).

Can you also confirm that you're using the latest version of the GUI (v2.1)?

    Regards
    Azad
  • Hi Azad,

I have tried as your suggestion but it didn't work.

I confirmed  I used the latest version of the GUI and the firmware. The product was bought  on  19th,Feb,2019.The GUI and the firmware are downloaded from the official website.

    More details:

       My DLP's situation:

         SW1 OFF:D1,D2,D5,D6,D7 ON, D9 blinks about 3 times then OFF;

                         D3,D8,D10,D11 OFF

         SW1 ON:D1,D3,D5,D6 ON

                       D2,D7,D8,D9,D10,D11 OFF

    Thanks for your reply.

  • Ketal,

In the original post, you mentioned that you "cut off the power". Can you explain what you mean by that? Did you remove the power cable connected to the EVM or did you set SW1 to off?

Are you able to update the firmware EVM successfully? If not, what error are you getting?

    Regards
    Azad
  • Hi Azad,

The firmware that I used is the newest version. And the DLP worked normally before this problem happened. So I am certain there is no problem with the firmware.

    Regards

    Ketal

  • Ketal,

Removing power while loading patterns could have corrupted the firmware. Please update the firmware.

If this does not solve the problem, the EVM is likely damaged.

    Azad
  • Hi Azad,
I have solved this problem. Thanks for your suggestion.
Maybe difference exists between different languages. I misunderstood "update firmware". After updating firmware, the problem is figured out.
    Thanks again for your help.
