Choosing DLP LightCrafter suitable for IR pulse laser

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2010NIR, DLP4500NIR

Hello,

We have already a DLP LCr 0.3 EM. However, as we are going to use DLP for 2-Photon absorption experiments, we need a DLP which is suitable for IR pulse lasers.

1- Can we use this LCr 0.3 EM for this purpose? Will not we damage the DLP?

2- If we want to buy another DLP LCr which is suitable for this case? Actually, I could find DLP4500NIR and DLP2010NIR chipsets on your website, but I could not find any Module which has already these chipsets!

3- How much will it totaly cost to have a complete NIR LCr Madule?

It would be nice of you if you can help me this issue.

Best regards,

Mahdi.

  • Mahdi,

Currently we do not offer a DLP4500NIR or DLP2010NIR evaluation module for general projection type systems. We do offer EVMs which are for spectroscopy which utilize those chips.

I can't say exactly whether or not you'll be able to use the LCr 3000 for your IR pulse laser experiment but I can tell you that you should look at the datasheet for the DLP3000 and take a look at the illumination power limits provided. For IR illumination the main thing is keeping the DMD cool, which you can do with active cooling. Depending on your power levels, you could damage the DMD if you don't take special precautions and more than likely you'll be using the DMD out of spec.

As for a complete NIR design, I would consult our design network partners. They might have a pre-built module that you can purchase. Some of them are active on the forums as well, so you may get a reply from them.
