High depth of focus

Hello, we are looking to incorporate LightCrafter 4500 in our setup for the purpose of 3D modeling using structured light.

We do however need a high depth of focus since we do not want to add any mechanical parts such as a motor to readjust the focus each time.

We found that EKB Technologies has a Laser based system called IR E4500 MKII on their website which as we understand would produce much greater depth of focus, this looks good but we need to work in RGB and not IR.

I couldn't find anything similar in visible range, Is there any solution offered that can support our requirement?

Our capturing distance range is between 65cm to about 1.2 meter.

  • Hello Maximilian and welcome to the DLP forums,

Perhaps EKB Technologies can comment here if they have any solutions for you. Additionally, you can find our other TI Design Network partners and the products they offer based on the 4500 at www.ti.com/.../searchproductresults.tsp

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Hello Maximilian,

We have a extended depth of focus version called E4500 MKII Focus. This version works in the visible spectrum (RGB) you can find it on our eStore at www..ekb.co.il

We offer two variants:  1. With image offset (100% offset) .  2.Without image offset (0% offset).

This version provides much greater depth of focus in comparison to the conventional LightCrafter 4500.

You can also find comparison information to the standard EVM below:
