DLP3000: Q1

Part Number: DLP3000

Hello,

I am working on a Heads-Up Display (HUD) project in an automotive application and looking into the white paper of next generation of DLP HUD.

In the white paper, it mentions "The HUD application requires a very high dynamic range to support a brightness of over 15000 cd/m2
during day time operation, while also displaying an image at less than 3 cd/m2 under very dark night time conditions."

Are 15000 cd/m2 and 3 cd/m2 the luminance at driver’s eye or the required luminance on DLP?

Thanks,

Victor
