compatible driver module for DLP4500 NIR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500, DLPNIRSCANEVM, DLPC350, DLP4500NIR

Hi,

I wanna buy a DLP4500 NIR So I am wondering which drivers (evaluation module) are compatible for this DMD?

I found DLPNIRSCANEVM but I wanna know is there any other driver board which is compatible with this NIR chipset?

Also, I see DLPC350 controller for this DLP4500 NIR, so can I use just this controller to connect to my desktop computer and control it?

Best,

Nafiseh

  • Nafiseh,

The only EVM that includes the DLP4500NIR is the NIRscan EVM. This EVM is designed as a Spectroscopy system and not a projection system.

The DLP4500NIR uses the DLPC350 controller. The DLPC350 is present on the LightCrafter 4500, but this projector has the DLP4500 DMD. The DLP4500 has a visible window, while the DLP4500NIR has an optimized NIR window.

The DLPC350 controller has a USB interface that supports USB 1.1 with HID protocol. USB HID protocol is supported by all computers. The LightCrafter 4500 software bundle include a graphical user interface (GUI) program to control the projector.

The NIRscan EVM includes a Beagle Bone system running Linux that acts as web server. All control of the EVM is performed through a HTML page in your browser.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Pedro,

Thanks for your answer. So can I use the Lightcrafter 4500 with DLP4500NIR to control it in a projection system?

Is it possible to order a Lightcrafter 4500 and one DLP4500NIR separately and connect them together?

  • Hi Nafiseh,

It is possible to order a DLP4500NIR and Lightcrafter 4500 and connect them together. Please be aware that this will void the warranty on the Lightcrafter 4500. If you search in the forums, you'll find some threads with people who have done what you are looking for in the past. The main thing to be aware of is that you order the FQE package with the built-in connector on the back of the package.
