Max speed grayscale sinusoidal patterns

Hi,

We recently bought the DLP Lightcrafter Evaluation Module. Our goal is to loop over a sequence of 3 different sinusoidal (8-bit) patterns as quickly as possible, preferably obtaining a rate of 120 Hz per image (so 40 Hz for the sequence of 3 images).

If we want to obtain maximum light input, is it possible to:

1) Project R,G and B at the same time?

2) Replace the R, G or B LED with a white one?

3) Project first R, then G, then B version of the same pattern and record all three of them in succession, yielding a total B/W image? What would be the limit in terms of total (R,G AND B) frame rate?

Basically, what way should we approach this problem (max light output preferred at max speed, sequence of three phase patterns) ?

Hello Sam,

#1. Due to LED driver max current driving capability it doesn't allow driving ALL the 3 LEDs simultaneously.

#2. Probably, you can try. You may also need to have a look at the 'filters' that are tuned for particular wavelengths inside the light engine.

#3. Since only one LED is ON at a time, technically equal to R + G + B.

Basically, what way should we approach this problem (max light output preferred at max speed, sequence of three phase patterns) ?

Since you have already purchased, not sure you are open to buy one. You may also contact Keynote and ask them if they mod existing Kit for you.
