DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: DMD PCB files

Part Number: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4710, DLPC3439

Dear members,

We decided to develop our own DLP projector based on dlpdlcr4710evm-g2 ! For that we bought one evaluation module and we are trying to follow the design files provided and make it as compact as possible (due to some mechanical considerations in our system).

I am seeking your help and guidance :

1- Is there any design files (schematic & layout) about the DMD (DLP4710) PCB used in the optical engine in dlpdlcr4710evm-g2 ?

2- We noticed 2 memories mounted on the PCB ! Can we place those memories outside of the DMD PCB (before the DMD Cable for eg) ?

Looking forward to your answers

Regards

  • Hello,

Thanks for using the DLP Forums.

    1. We do not provide those because the optical module is provided to us as a unit. For more information on that optical module please reach out to Yong Optics: www.ti.com/.../optical-module.html

    2. You are correct there are two memories! For best results please follow the SPI routing recomendations present in the DLPC3439 datasheet such as below:

    Hope that helps!

  • Hello Danny,

First of all thanks for the reply and the useful information.

I noticed in some TI designs you used your own PCB for the DMD so I was hoping to get some guidance through designing our own. Is there any useful documents about this ?

    Thank a lot again
    regards
  • Hello,

Glad I could help. The TI reference design are a way for users to get started with the electronics design of the system. The idea is that most users will purchase an optical engine to suit their needs. This is why we provide the contact information to our optical engine manufactures. You are correct, some of the DMD boards we do design ourselves and publish those. In the case of the DLP 4710 we do not.

Good luck with with your design. Let us know if you have any questions as you proceed.

    Best,

    ~Danny W
