DLPA2005: Can the zener diode(Vrrm 40V ) replace to other Vrrm 30V zener diode?

Dear All,

Thank you for your support.

Please let me ask you the following zener diode in LightCrafter Display 2010 EVM.

Our customer is making their original controller board but they would like to change to Vrrm 30V zener diode for their design.

Because Vrrm 30V zener diode can be obtained easily than Vrrm 40V.

Is it possible to change to the 30V zener diode from reference design original 40V?

Hello Rossinag,

We think it should be okay to switch to 30V assuming the current rating is the same but we haven't tried it. What is your VIN voltage you are using ?

No I think it should be fine. As mentioned earlier we haven't tried it but I think it shouldn't cause any issues.
