DSP/BIOS PSP version 1.30.00.05

Hello!

I have a problem when I install DSP/BIOS PSP drivers version 1.30.00.05. The Installation says it is correctly done. But I think there is some kind of problem when I am setting up the environment variables (I am not sure if I do it the right way). Anyway when I am starting matlab an error message occur see below. Can someone help me with this problem?

At the moment my environment variables are set to:  PSP_EVMC6748_INSTALLDIR       C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\pspdrivers_01_30_00_05

Maybe I should install it in an other folder?

  • It's unclear what is generating this message.  You say that Matlab is generating this error on start up?  Perhaps you have some kind of configuration problems with Matlab?

  • Thanks for the answear!

I am sure its not a problem with matlab. Matlab is integrated good with CCS and the other programs as DSP/BIOS and code generation tool but I think for the DSP BIOS PSP it is some problem with the installation directory. And my problem at the moment is that the DSP BIOS PSP is not cooperate with CCS when that problem is over then I dont recive the error message from Matlab either. So my question is how do I install DSP BIOS PSP properly? And in which deirectory shall I install it to?

  • Hi Andreas,

It looks like there is problem in setting up the environment variable itself. It should be "BIOS5PSP_INSTALL_DIR". And, this variable should be set to your PSP Install directory. You need not install the PSP package in another folder but change the enviroment variable itself. Hope your problem will be solved with this change.

It is preferable if you use BIOS PSP version 01.30.00.07 which is a GA release, and upon successfull installation the BIOSPSP installer creates an environmental variable “BIOS5PSP_INSTALL_DIR” which can be used to refer to the installation directory of BIOSPSP package. This is supposed to provide for CCS3 build environments. for further details, please refer BIOSPSP.01.30.00.07 Userguide(Section 1.5.3).

    Thanks & regards,

    Raghavendra

  • Dear Raghavendra!

I tried to do the changes but still not with success but I think I am closer to a solution now then before. When I try this command in matlab it want find my version of BIOS PSP and complaining over the environment variables  PSP_EVMC6748_INSTALLDIR=""(it requires this directory) shown below. I have alredy tried the version "BIOS5PSP_INSTALL_DIR" but it complain anyway.

Could you help me with this problem?

    Best regards Andreas Pössl

  • Andreas,

I' afraid that we are stumped on how we can help you further.  The PSP component simply does not require any environment variable called PSP_EVMC6748_INSTALLDIRand it appears that your problem is stemming from some kind of weird interaction between the PSP component and Matlab.  If we can think of anything else, we'll certainly be glad to lend a hand, but I think you will need to do some more Matlab related research on your end.

  • Hello David!

I had some problem with configuring the DSP/BIOS 5.33.06 in CCS to begin with. After I had done that there where no problem to show the right version in matlab either. And now when I have installed the PSP BIOS it seems to be the same problem with it. I think it is some problem to connect it to the CCS. In the user guide it stands that I have to setup the environment variables in a certain way I am not sure I am doing it in the right way.   How do I know when it is properly installed and configured to CCS? After that I don’t think the error massage will show up in matlab either.

    Best regards Andreas Pössl

  • DSP/BIOS is a plug-in component of CCS, so in CCS 3.3 you can use the CCS Component Manager to select a new version of BIOS.  However, I don't believe that the PSP stuff is packaged as a CCS installer -- it's a level below that.  So it doesn't seem that the issue with PSP would be the same as your issue with DSP/BIOS.  Again, this seems like some kind of Matlab set up issue.
