CC3100 won't connect to internet

CC3100 Booster Pack on v1.0.0.1 firmware

This TI tutorial is what I have been trying to follow in order to get the CC3100 connected to the internet.

When I attempt to connect to the internet, it seems like the device just hangs at the initial prompt, which you can see in the screenshot below:

Something to note is that I only have access to WPA2-Enterprise and my phone's Wifi signals.  I have been using my phone's access point feature with the same SSID and security type as what I have set up in sl_common.h.  My laptop can connect to this network and access the internet just fine.  However, the CC3100 keeps attempting to obtain an IP address to no avail.  Can someone please provide some insight?

  • Hi Alex,

It looks like that the not able to start the networking subsystem in you case.
    Few questions?
    1) Are you using custom board or CC3100 Booster Pack? Which MCU you are using with CC3100?
    2) Can you run the example in debug mode and pause the code when it gets stuck and share the call stack?
    3) Can you confirm the service pack version you are using?

    Regards,
    Ankur
  • Hello Ankur, thanks for asking. I'm using the MSP430F5529LP with the CC3100 Booster Pack. I am not sure what you mean by the service pack, but if you mean the firmware installed on the CC3100, it is v1.0.0.1.

Once I am able to access the boards tonight, I will add the debug mode results.
  • Hi Alex,

Can you please share the call stack as requested above?

    Ankur
