Hello Tim,

What version of the Flash burner are you using?

What OS?

The message "...the device can't start", is it the TUSB9261? or is it your HDD?

Can you send some screen shots of the error message, device manager...

Hello Tim,

I'm going to take another look to your schematic and ask the firmware guys.

Where did you get this firmware? (the No_swap.. )

Just to make sure, after you get the yellow bang on your mass storage instance, disconnect and re-connect the TUSB9261.

I got the Firmware from this post, I thought it would work but it says its for the TUSB9260 http://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/digital_interface/f/130/t/93314.aspx?PageIndex=2

Still No dice.

Same Error as before with this firmware. I tried 3 of my Target boards all failed.

My Target Board block diagram, The green line connection works perfectly. The red line connection is what we are currently working on.

Notes for implementation:

All signals are Plus-Plus and Minus-Minus.
The sata switch automatically switches to the TUSB9261 Side when USB voltage is present.
This was breadboarded with the development kits and worked just fine with default TUSB software.
No Caps are used between the TUSB9261 and the Sata Switch due to the fact that they are run off the same power supply on the same board.

What does that mean? I am facing the exact same problem, only using a cable straght to PC.

The device could be programmed once, but after that I no longer see the Input device in device manager and cannot reprogram the fimware.

Hello Jakub,

Are you using the TI EVM? If not, can you share your schematics? Can attach a screen capture of the device manager with the failure? What FW version are you using?

Can you describe the steps you are following to replicate the issue?

Hi,

we are using our own board design, but here is the diagram of the connection of the part. The usb cable is connected to labels USB4- and USB4+.

The steps fro replicating the problem:

I am using windows 7, first I installed the TUSB926x burner utility, then connected the device and uploaded firmware. There is no disk connected to the sata port.

After uploading, when I connect the device in it shows as a USB mass storage device at first, then after a few an exclamation mark shows and in the device properties I can see error 10 , device cannot start.

Are you using the TI default firmware? Which version?

Please select the HID Enable on the Advanced Descriptors Editor window on the Flash Burner Utility.

I am using the default firmware sllc416f - v.0.98a.

Setting the HID enable didn´t help. Isn´t this option making changes for the burning of next chip? I don´t see any effect on recognizing the device.

Could the problem be in the fact that I don´t have any disk connected?

When I disabled the flash during enumeration I was able to reprogram the device.

With the HID option enabled I can see a compund device consisting of a mass storage device and a HID device, and after a minute I am able to reprogram the device without disabling the flash.
